We receive joining requests  for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, some of our Sections are running at capacity whilst others have immediate availability. Although the starting ages are Beavers (5 years and 9 months), Cubs (8 years) and Scouts (10 years 6 months), if a Section has availability then we will always try and accommodate any young person wishing to join us.

There are over 100,000 young People, throughout the UK, on waiting lists to join Scouting. Unfortunately the reason why we have such waiting lists is due to a shortage of Adult Volunteers. The majority of volunteers in Scouting are Parents of Members and Former Members. NB: A Parent/Carers ability to volunteer may prioritise a Young Persons application due to improved Adult/Child Ratios,

Beavers 5 years and 9 months - 8 years. Cubs 8 years - 10 years and 6 months, Scouts 10 years and 6 months - 14 years old.
